Hi guys, I have a project that I’d like to put a team together for.

Premise:

The project I want to pitch is a high adrenalin action packed trailer for a game idea that I have, called ‘Escape to SafeZoneX’ (working title), which will be about a minute long Mad Max style car chase, where a gang of bikers is chasing a car across to the edge of a canyon as the driver is focusing on the safe haven at the end.  As we get to the edge of the canyon we see that the bridge has been blown out.  The driver hits the nitro-glycerine switch and the car barely makes it across the canyon and crash lands on the other side.  The driver gets out of the burning car, he reaches in and pulls out a baby who he cradles.  He looks to the safe zone, he and the baby are still several miles away without a car, we see shadows of foes in the background and the sounds of engines coming on as we fade to black.

There’s going to be lots of very cool car chase shots, bikers attacking the car, bikers being thrown off their bikes and a huge jump, crash and burn at the end of it.  I want to render it in a very manga style, graphic, toon-shader look with lots of abstract shots of when bikers are knocked of their bikes, some reference images below.

The Team:

Very briefly I’m looking for
-          Pre-Production (day 1):
o   a storyboard artist (a couple of lunchtimes before the start)
o   Look dev artists
o   modellers and/or models (if you have models for characters (the bikers can be of a generic type and duplicated across) or vehicles (one car, one bike to be duplicated) be great to use them)
o   environment artists (planning on using simple shapes and silhouettes (maybe on cards – see  images below))
o   producer or someone who wants to play producer to keep us on schedule
-          Production (day 1 and day 2):
o   a DOP
o   animators (be very fast, most of it will be animating cars, bikes and cameras – very short frame lengths)
o   lighters – we’ll set up a master lighting and shader template to pass around that the look dev will make (target to keep renders under 2 mins per frame)
o   effects artist(s)
o   sound design for the production itself and
o   pipeline TD to make sure updated shaders and lighting get propagated through, we’ll be developing them at the same time as animating them
-          Post Production (day 2):
o   an editor (some shots may still be coming in on day two)
o   a compositor to do some grading work too
o   the sound designer from day one to put in all the sound effects

If this project sounds like something you’d be interested in drop me a line, every shot will be really quick and fast (probably lots of shots with very short durations) and we can build a team.

Here some reference images and videos to give you a flavour of the piece.

It is definitely quite ambitious but if we get enough people together and a tight shot list we can have lots of fun and make something very cool.  Apart from the character getting out at the end, it will mainly be setting up cars and bikes and cool camera angles.  Replies to me only please if you want to join the team.

Thanks
